1Materials & weather protection
Are Shield outdoor covers waterproof?
Shield covers are built for weatherproof, highly water-resistant outdoor protection. Our core furniture-cover lines use breathable TPU-laminated construction to help shed rain while reducing trapped moisture compared with non-breathable plastic-style covers.
What makes Shield covers breathable?
The TPU-laminated fabric is designed to balance weather resistance with moisture management. Breathability helps reduce condensation under the cover during temperature swings, rain, snow, and humid weather.
Are Shield covers better than PVC or vinyl covers?
Many PVC and vinyl-style covers can feel stiff and trap heat or moisture. Shield uses flexible TPU-laminated fabric designed for outdoor exposure, UV protection, and cold-weather flexibility down to -35°F.
Will Shield covers protect furniture during winter?
Yes. Shield covers are designed for year-round outdoor protection from snow, rain, dust, UV, and debris. For best results, clean and dry furniture before long-term storage and avoid letting water pool on flat surfaces.
2Sizing & fit
How do I choose the right size outdoor cover?
Measure the widest width, deepest depth, and tallest height of the furniture or equipment. Choose the closest Shield size that provides full coverage without excessive loose fabric or tight stretching.
Should a patio furniture cover fit tightly?
A secure fit is best, but covers should not be stretched tight. A small amount of clearance helps the cover slide on and off, supports airflow, and reduces stress on seams.
How do I measure a dining set cover?
Push chairs into their normal stored position, then measure the full footprint: total width, depth, and height. Use the full set dimensions rather than measuring only the table.
How do I choose a 50 or 55 inch outdoor TV cover?
Measure the full width, height, and depth of the TV, including the bezel, wall-mount clearance, soundbar, and cables if they need coverage. Choose the cover size that slides over the screen securely without pulling tight.
3Product lines & use cases
What is the difference between Mercury and Platinum?
Mercury is Shield’s practical everyday protection line with breathable TPU-laminated fabric and strong weather resistance. Platinum is the premium line, designed for customers who want the most durable Shield option and a soft inner liner for added surface protection.
Do you still carry Titanium?
No. Titanium has been discontinued. For current Shield covers, start with the Mercury collection or compare Mercury and Platinum options.
Do you offer cushion storage?
Yes. The Outdoor Cushion Storage Bag is designed for organizing and protecting cushions, pillows, patio accessories, and seasonal soft goods. It should be used as a storage solution rather than as a fully exposed furniture cover for standing water or harsh extended outdoor exposure.
Can I get help choosing the right cover?
Yes. If you are unsure about sizing, material choice, or product line, contact Shield with your furniture measurements and a photo if available. We can help you choose the best match before ordering.
